Clear about what we do
Privio is a privacy product, so here is exactly what it sees, what it never touches and why it asks for the permissions it does.
What Privio checks
The website names your device looks up (DNS requests), checked against your filtering profile.
What Privio never reads
The content of pages, your messages or your passwords.
The activity log
Domain names looked up, with the time and device name, are recorded in a log the account owner can view.
Your data
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use network activity for behavioral advertising.
Encryption
Data sent between the app and our servers is protected with industry-standard encryption.
Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time, which starts deletion of your personal information.
Why Privio asks for them
VPN connection
To filter DNS requests, Privio asks Android to create a local VPN connection. It is used only to send website names to our servers for checking. If the account owner sets a schedule, internet access is blocked on the device while the schedule is active and the VPN is on.
Accessibility service
Only if you turn on App Blocking. Privio detects which app has just opened so it can return the device to the home screen if that app is blocked. It does not read the screen, what you type or your passwords, and does not act on your behalf. Turn it off any time in Android settings.
Connected devices
A device is connected by scanning a QR code, and shows a notice before it joins. The account owner can then see its filtering activity, apply schedules and block apps. A visible notification shows while protection is on.
Privio is not designed to be hidden, and must not be used to secretly monitor anyone. Read the full Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
